Head Coach – Rich “Bergy” Bergemann

Rich (Bergy) started playing rugby in 1984 with the Fort Knox Rugby Club. He played with the club for 2-Years and then transferred to Bamberg Germany. He played with the Bamberg Rugby Club for another 2-year, Being selected to play for USAREUR for 1-season. He joined the Wisconsin Rugby Club, Madison Wisconsin in 1988 and played actively until 2004.

He has played in several Badger State Games, JR Cub Championships, Placed 4th in the Nation in 1997 DIV II National Championships, going on to win the 1998 Div II National Championship with the WRC. He was the assistant coach for the Madison Memorial Rugby Club. His greatest memory: “Winning the Arctic Fest tournament in Stevens Point with a -26 Temperature”

Eric Zoglman

Eric was originally from Appleton, WI and moved to Oregon for work right away he knew he had to get back into sports. He has been coaching JV soccer for Oregon since 2011 and has been part of the Rugby club since the start.  He enjoys all sports and anything to prevent ending up on the couch. He likes to brag that he brings the average age of the coaching staff down and can easily keep up with the players. Eric is always looking forward to the beginning of the season.

Jessica Burda

Jessica Burda joined the Oregon-Stoughton coaching staff in spring of 2016. She works predominantly with the forwards. She is an active member of the Wisconsin and Midwest rugby community. Jessica played rugby for 20 years and retired from active training after helping lead Wisconsin Women’s Rugby to the 2015 USA Rugby D2 National Championship as forwards captain. In 2016, she also served as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Women’s team that finished second in the nation. Jessica previously coached the UW-Madison Women and Wisconsin Selects U-19/U-23 women’s all-star teams. She currently is a USA Rugby Coach Educator and a board member of Madison United Rugby. She also serves as the Social Media and Website Manager of the Wisconsin Rugby Football Union. Away from rugby, she works professionally in intercollegiate athletics directing digital communications and social media.
